Books that always balance
Every entry must balance before it is saved, posted entries are corrected by reversal instead of edited, and closed months refuse new postings. The database enforces it, so no screen, import or background job can slip past.
Double-entry accounting for a growing business: invoices, bills, bank reconciliation and reports on one ledger whose rules are enforced by the database itself, so an unbalanced or edited entry never gets in.
Numora Books keeps a company's books on a ledger that holds its own rules. An entry whose debits and credits do not match is refused when it is saved, a posted entry is never edited, only reversed by a new one, and a closed month refuses new postings. Those rules live inside the database, not only in the app, so they hold whichever way data arrives: a screen, an import or a background job. On that ledger you raise invoices and credit notes, record bills, purchase orders and goods received, and take payments. An invoice stores no totals of its own; what a customer owes is always read back from the ledger, so the two can never disagree. Bank statements import in five formats without counting a line twice, rules match lines to accounts, and a finished reconciliation is locked. The reports are there when you ask: trial balance, balance sheet, profit and loss on an accrual or cash basis, aged balances and statements. A month-end review checks that the trial balance ties before a period closes. Invite your bookkeeper to enter the day's work and your accountant to read everything without changing anything, and keep more than one set of books under one login. Fixed assets, stock, projects billed from time sheets and deferred revenue post to the same ledger.

Raise invoices and credit notes, record bills, purchase orders and goods received, and take payments with discounts and bank charges. What a customer owes is always read from the ledger, never from a stored total that could drift.
Import statements as CSV, OFX, QFX, MT940 or CAMT.053. A line imported twice is recognised, rules match lines to accounts and can be undone in bulk, and a finished reconciliation is locked.
Trial balance, balance sheet, profit and loss on an accrual or cash basis, aged balances and statements, plus a ledger export to CSV. A month-end review checks the trial balance ties before a period closes, and reopening one asks for a reason.
Invite people with ready-made access: Owner for everything, Bookkeeper for day-to-day entry, Accountant to read everything and change nothing. Access can be limited to particular books.
Fixed assets with depreciation, stock valued on FIFO or weighted average, projects whose time sheets become draft invoices, and deferred revenue recognised over time, all posting to the same books.
